Brain Implosion Averted

It only takes a good night’s rest. I feel a little more at peace in my head and my heart. After-all, everything is alright with me. It is possible that I am sub-consciously just trying to inject some chaos into my life unnecessarily.

It all came about while looking through my journal entries over the past year or so. I was searching for journal entries about my little one and how I have changed as a person over this very short period of time. It was alarming to me how much I changed what I didn't want to. After all I am or maybe even was a selfish person who really didn't want to deal with this great responsibility. I felt it wouldn't be fair that I wouldn't be able to make sacrifices for her. If you have a kid you understand. You just do it automatically for them. How can you do that automatically? It's mind boggling

That's what made me think that I truly have it all and what else could be missing?

That led to me looking up what I have done less of this year and of course. With a journal it's all there: Stuff you forgot, stuff you push out of your mind to keep yourself sane, People who slighted you...

Then for some reason I tried to re-evaluate my decision on whether I was Atheistic, Agnostic or could I really accept in any sort of system of monotheistic/polytheistic beliefs. THAT was like trying to jam a 5.25" floppy in a 3.5" drive by folding it. Needless to say that floppy exploded, but I didn't need it anyways. I decided to dump trying to tackle a concept that bizarre by myself.

It's definitely a pile of spaghetti to work through, and probably eat afterward.

I do like to personal journal a lot. So much at work that I began my personal journal. I never realized how powerful of a tool this is for me. I shall keep it encrypted to stop it from falling into the wrong hands. =O

Punks are running wild in the street and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TV's while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be. We know things are bad - worse than bad. They're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone.' Well, I'm not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot - I don't want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you've got to get mad. You've got to say, 'I'm a HUMAN BEING, Goddamnit! My life has VALUE!' So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!'" - Howard Beagle (Network 1974)

I Need to Escape

I don't know how, but I feel I need to just escape this life of mine. Where would I escape to though. All this dark cold weather.

I need something tropical. Pity there are no real good jobs in the tropical areas. I guess unless I work in a resort. And I know I don't like working with people. I am pretty certain that all the IT jobs in awesome hotels like that are constantly filled.

Mm.. It's nice to dream.

Oh... for my wife's birthday, in case anybody was curious what I got her, I got her some books and a gift card. I got here a 15 dollar gift car to Starbucks and the first two novels in the House of Night novel series. It seemed like something she would really enjoy since she liked the Twilight series. She read Twilight before it even became that popular. Has all the Hard-covers.

300th Post! It took a while to get here. I should post more but...

Thinking of Gift Ideas for My Wife

V-Day and Birthday gifts. I don't have too many Ideas so far but I am thinking.

Books she might want. She likes Hardbacks. I don't know exactly what books she might need though. She already read all of Stephanie Meyer's books so far. And Dean Koontz and Stephen King write too damn many books to count. :O

She likes wine, but we have a few unopened bottles already. I guess I could find something special instead. Might get some liqueur and make a few mixed drinks she likes.

One of those edible arrangements might be cool... but they are very expensive.

One of these... ;-) Isn't it amazing what you can find on Amazon.com?

Trying This Out for a Change

In an effort to attempt to keep myself more alert in the morning I have made a few changes to my daily routine the last few weeks. The first being getting up 30 minutes earlier and walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes. The second being ramping up my coffee intake. It seems to be working a fair bit better. After 30 minutes on the hamster wheel I am more alert.

Part two. I need to tell you more about the MySims game. It's a fun distraction, and it is fun to build stuff, but the game is a tad limited. Building the little town though is fun, but I ran outta stuff to do after I got to the 5 star level. I ended up getting all the rewards and item blueprints in the end however.

Picked up MySims for the PC

I picked it up at lunchtime at work. Can't wait to try it at home. Supposedly a very quick fun version of The Sims that is streamlined for younger people but still has lots of different and new to do. The nice thing about it is it is rated "E" so that in a few years when my daughter wants to play a game on the PC I have something more geared for her age too.

Hecktic Work

Always busy as usual. I just had to take some time out of my lunch to tell you that. Plus it is always good to write at least something. I wrote in my flash-drive journal more stuff. I am getting a LOT of ideas for a 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons campaign. I want to do it online. I am trying out maptool for mapping and am working on a starter dungeon to get things working and fixed out. If anybody is looking for a game I could set a day on the calendar. It will be sporadic days (about once a month), but we would just have to schedule them out.

It's Looming Again

The gray cold sky blankets the horizon and the precipitation falls. I look out the the plate glass out onto the blacktop lot below. I suddenly feel drowsy at the sight.  Not like I can normally keep myself awake normally, I have to deal with the depressing view of the early autumn weather. Noticed is that the leaves green color on a nearby tree has almost all given away presenting me with its new pale amber color. A pretty color, but one disguising a horrible truth.

Ah, how I long for those late spring cherry blossoms filling the trees and my eyes with a sign saying The warmth that you desire is almost here. The message that these leaves leaves now send is just as clear.

I shake off the sinking feeling of the last few minutes with with new resolve that whatever happens I will make it through the winter. Yes, adjustment may be made, but I need to push forward through this and I will defeat it. I will not let it rule over me. This time around, I have allies against this darkness.

My Non-Writing

I have been horrible at writing in my blog and in my journal lately. I don't know weather it is general business, or the lack of effort to take the time out of my busy day to actually write in it.  The lack of effort I have put forth is probably the biggest. After all it doesn't take that much time to write something short, even if it is not very relevant at all.

I have also neglected my duties as a friend as of late. Calling people up to see how they are doing. Yes, I have been busy at work and busy with my home life, but it is not a real excuse. I apologize to all those affected by my general aloofness (Friends: I have a Flickr setup for pictures and will get you the details when there is more pictures of us available on it). I get up in the morning, Go to work, get home, do family stuff and go to bed almost every day.

The one good thing of note.  Even though it is getting darker faster, It has remained relatively warm and I was get the dog and me out for a nice walk before the twilight approached.
